Driving Business with Soul: My Biography
“To be their best, people need to put their heart and soul into what they do.”
I’ve enjoyed a successful commercial career of over 30 years which has seen me lead some major projects in CX culture change and design; change; embedding values; improving personal effectiveness. My experience has led me to identify my purpose as helping clients in driving business with soul.
Speaking to large groups has been feature of this work since 1986. Today, I draw from concepts, tools and methods backed up by real success stories.
My speaking work has sent me to locations as diverse as Chile, Brazil, Mexica, USA, Canada, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Japan, China, Australia and New Zealand.
Key Focus Areas
My focus is on how modern business can succeed by connecting with their people at a deeper ‘soul’ level. Driving business with soul.
This is where potential exists for the highest levels of performance. To help you achieve this, I engage audiences in experiential ways that add impact and memorability. To back this up, I also have a range of practical tools and methods to help people implement the ideas.
The insights I draw from are informed by my 15 years producing and directing 5-star, award-winning performances on stage and TV.
What are the key drivers of discretionary effort in people and teams? Knowing this, how can your leaders and teams leverage these factors better? How can you drive the business forward… with soul?

My Commercial Story
In the early 1980’s I worked alongside Scandinavian Service School & Time Manager International. I experienced the customer experience culture transformations that helped SAS and British Airways achieve industry leading performance. I went on to adapt this approach successfully for American Express Europe, Middle-East and Africa.
My own speaking work began in earnest in 1986. I’ve since gone on to address boards, senior executives, middle managers and large groups of employees.
I was at the heart of the team that created the concept of Moments of Truth and the initial practice of Customer Journey Mapping. This has also involved pioneering work using Culture Audits. I’ve also experienced some of the most successful values’ programmes…and a few of the worst!
My work in creative communication includes devising, producing and directing multi award-winning theatre productions. This has seen my work appear on the international stage and on TV since 2006 with The Big Bite-Size Breakfast Show. Today I often use applied theatre methods such as Verbatim Playback in my masterclasses.
